Recital Time Rehearsals!
During the development of the dance recital for 2013 dance class it has given me the chance to take a little bit of a leader role in some ways. During the process of getting the idea’s for “Stompa” was to decide how it is going to connect to the theme “Spirit”. The idea that was thought of was the use of puppets, puppeteers and an individual that would be trying to get everyone away from trying to be something they’re not just for society. During the planning the group needed to figure out when and how the individual would ‘set us free’ from society. For the individual groups “Stompa” and “Radioactive” I was in the group of “Stompa”. During many rehearsals before the recital, in the beginning when we were first learning and putting together the dance while Ms. Converset was out of the room working with the “Radioactive” group we practiced. I took the role with saying the counts, to make sure everyone was able to follow along and be on the right counts for each move. Another time was helping out in teaching a combination to Robynn, she wasn’t getting a combination so we did it together a few times until she was comfortable with it and could do it. Lastly, was the day of the recital and Carly had not finished her solo for the dance so out in the hall, Kailyn and I helped give ideas that she could do for it and put it altogether. One of the difficulties that had happened was the lack of time where we had everyone there for rehearsals, the time we had was to make sure everyone knew what they were doing and on what count it was supposed to be on.
